On 3rd November 2015, a delegation from The Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China (SPP) visited the UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

The delegation was welcomed by Alison Saunders, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). At the meeting, Alison said the CPS would be more than happy to share some of their experience in operations and management with the delegation.
Mr Wang Shaofeng,the head of delegation and Vice Minister of the SPP, expressed gratitude for such a kind welcome. He commented that SPP believes that strengthening the relationships between legal professionals from the two countries will help to develop stable, sound and fair legal systems and thus will support the co-operation between the UK and China businesses and promote prosperity.
After meeting with the DPP, the SPP delegation was given a briefing session by three senior prosecutors. The briefing session involved an explanation of the prosecutors’ classification and grading system. It also covered general management issues. An informal evening reception was organised and attended by former DPP Sir David Calvert-Smith QC, who has collaborated with GBCC projects on many previous projects.
