Our funding

Our projects are primarily funded through Official Development Assistance (ODA) from the FCDO, EU and bilateral donors, and through corporate sponsorship.

GBCC’s programme of work offers partners an opportunity to work with leading thinkers, influential experts, and decision-makers on some of the most complex global and domestic challenges.

The Great Britain-China Centre is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee operating as an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), receiving an annual Grant-in-Aid (non-ODA) for core operations.

While aligning our work with the FCDO’s strategy for relations with China, as an arm’s length body GBCC remains independent from government with our own governing Board of Directors.
